About This Walk
Join me for a relaxed Saturday-morning photowalk through downtown Kirkwood. During this approximately 90-minute walk, we’ll explore local history, architecture, everyday activity, and some of the quieter details we might normally pass without noticing.
We’ll meet at the public parking lot located at:
110 N. Clay Avenue
Kirkwood, MO 63122
As a helpful landmark, you will see Mike Duffy’s Pub & Grill at the back of the parking lot.
Our planned stops include:
- Kirkwood Historical Society at Mudd’s Grove
- Eliot Unitarian Universalist Chapel
- Argonne Alley
- Kirkwood Farmers’ Market
- First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood
- Kirkwood United Methodist Church
Mudd’s Grove will be closed to the public that day, but I will contact the Historical Society to ask whether they might allow our group inside.
I will also check which churches may be available for interior photography on Saturday morning and will share the confirmed location and timing once I have more information. All interior access will depend on permission and availability. If we are welcomed inside, we will photograph only the architecture and interior details – photographing people inside the buildings will not be permitted.
The route will return us to the parking lot at the end of the walk.
Bring any camera you enjoy using – a phone, compact camera, or interchangeable-lens camera. All experience levels are welcome. The focus will be on slowing down, observing, experimenting, and discovering familiar Kirkwood from a different perspective.
