About This Walk

Come join me to walk through historic downtown Venice, Florida! Venice is full of historic charm with buildings from the 1920’s built in the Northern Italian Renaissance style. Downtown Venice is known for its lovely main street area and has won numerous awards for it. Many locals work hard to keep it beautiful maintaining many gardens, parks, and landscaping. Venice has a rich history including the Ringling Circus and Kentucky Military Institute which wintered here for decades. We will walk by cute little shops, restaurants and coffee shops downtown while hearing live music in the streets. During our walk you will see elegant statues, fountains, historic clocks, and buildings with Italian architectural details.

We will meet at the gazebo in Centennial Park, which is on the north side of the park near Tampa Ave. W. at 6:00 pm. The walk will start at 6:15 pm.

There is a large parking lot at Centennial Park, and parking on the streets. Parking is free.

We will walk down the streets of historic downtown: Tampa Ave W, West Venice Ave, and Miami Ave.

After the walk we will meet at Made in Italy Restaurant at 117 W Venice Ave at 8:30 pm for a meal. This is very close to Centennial Park across the street.

Please let me know if you plan to join us at the restaurant so I can give the restaurant an accurate head count for reservations. I have already booked the restaurant and will adjust the head count as we get closer. (You are responsible for the cost of your meal.)

This is for all levels of photographers with any type of camera. Bring a tripod for low light images later in the walk. We will be taking photos from golden hour, to sunset, and blue hour. I will be here to answer your photography questions, give photography tips, and share the history of my town.
