About This Walk

Discover the rich architectural heritage of downtown Fort Worth on a guided photo walk starting right beneath the limestone angels of the iconic Bass Performance Hall. We will explore approximately two miles over a relaxed, leisurely two-and-a-half hours, allowing plenty of dedicated time to set up shots, experiment with angles, and capture historic landmarks, Art Deco gems, and modern marvels. Walkers of all experience levels are welcome, and you can bring any camera you like—whether you are shooting on a smartphone, a DSLR, a mirrorless body, or classic 35mm film. If you have questions about specific camera settings or menus along the way, be sure to bring along your physical user manual or save a web link to it on your phone so we can troubleshoot together in the field.

To get the most out of the streetscapes and towering facades, an ultra-wide zoom (like a 14–24mm or 16–35mm equivalent) is ideal for tight corners, while a versatile standard zoom or short telephoto (such as a 24–70mm or 70–200mm) will help isolate intricate stonework, cornices, and carved reliefs. After completing our loop back at Bass Hall, anyone interested is invited to join the group for an optional lunch just around the corner at a nearby Sundance Square spot like Mi Cocina or The Cheesecake Factory to swap stories, talk gear, and share photos.

Parking is available at the Fort Worth City Center Garage #2, 401 Calhoun St, around the corner from the Bass Performance Hall.
