  1. A suggestion: Before the actual walk, drive around the area of the photowalk to get a feel for it and identify potential shooting spots. If you’re visiting from out of town, use Google Street View to virtually explore the area.

Remember, the area is roughly bounded by:
    – I-10 to the north
    – Border Highway to the south
    – Cotton Street to the east
    – Campbell Street to the west

  2. Hi all!
We have 13 folks signed up so far for the WWPW! Please share the word with your friends and colleagues as well as on social media.
We try to get to around 30 participants… So we have a way to go before October 4!
If you have any questions, please leave them here on the discussion board and we will try to answer them ASAP.
Don’t forget, you can order a t-shirt for the walk as well as donate to the orphanage as well.

  3. Great to see 17 of you signed up so far! Please tell a friend!
I want to emphasize this before we start on October 4:

Before the actual walk, drive around the area of the photowalk to get a feel for it and identify potential shooting spots. If you’re visiting from out of town, use Google Street View to virtually explore the area.

Remember, the area is roughly bounded by:
    – I-10 to the north
    – Border Highway to the south
    – Cotton Street to the east
    – Campbell Street to the west

Of course if you “stray” a few blocks either side, no harm no foul.
If you have questions, leave them here and I will get answers ASAP.

  4. We are just ONE WEEK away from the 2025 Worldwide Photowalk! I hope you are as excited as I am! Remember that we will meet at 11AM at the PEEP Photographer’s Collaborative, 1400 Texas Ave. The “walk” which can include your car of course, will take about 2 hours and we will regroup around 1PM back at the Collaborative Folks wishing to stay for lunch are invited to do so!

Remember, if you have a chance to drive around the photo area, roughly bound by I10, Border Freeway, Cotton and Campbell streets, please do so so that you can make a better use of your 2 hours.

Dress appropriately. It looks right now that the weather will be nice, with a high in the mid to high 80’s.

    See you Saturday!

  5. We are about 4 days away from the 2025 Worldwide Photowalk! I hope you are as excited as I am!
Remember that we will meet at 11AM at the PEEP Photographer’s Collaborative, 1400 Texas Ave. This is also the home of the PODIUM restaurant, so if you see the PODIUM sign, you are in the right place!

The “walk” which can include your car of course, will take about 2 hours and we will regroup around 1PM back at the Collaborative. Folks wishing to stay for a no-host lunch are invited to do so! You are also encouraged to enjoy the photos at the Collaborative. There are 20 local and regional photographers in the Collaborative, many who will be participating in the walk with us.

Remember, if you have a chance to drive around the photo area, roughly bound by I10 (N) , Border Freeway (S), Cotton (E) and Campbell (W) streets, please do so so that you can make a better use of your 2 hours. You can walk, you can drive, you can bike…
Everyone is encouraged to partner up with someone for their walk/drive/bike/Scoot… If you go beyond the boundaries, no one will notice. In fact, Texas Ave is very interesting east beyond Cotton street.

Dress appropriately. It looks right now that the weather will be nice, with a high in the mid to high 80’s.

    See you Saturday!

  6. All,
We are at 32 for this Saturday’s WWPW! Great number! I hope everyone can attend!
If you are brining someone along with you, a friend, your child, a spouse, please register them as well!
    Remember, Saturday at 11AM!
1400 Texas Ave (The Podium Restaurant is the main location but we are meeting in the back at the PEEP Collaborative)
Also, please remember that the WWPW is also a fund raising event for the Springs of Hope Kenya orphanage that is supported by the larger Scott Kelby organization. We will be taking a collection up at the start, so please bring a few dollars to add to the kitty. 100% of all collected will be donated to the orphanage.

    Okay, see you Saturday!

  7. Is this a guided tour with a guide. Is there a map issued? If i ride my bike is there a map? I am a little confused as to the format? Will you tell us what to photograph and why? Phil Pivovar

  8. How the Saturday “walk” works:
We all meet at 1400 Texas at 11AM. From there, we pick up lanyards and receive last minute instructions. A Map will be included, as well as some safety instructions. but just remember that the ROUGH boundaries of the walk are I10 to the North, Border Freeway to the South, Cotton Street to the East and Campbell to the West.
You can explore any part or all of that space if you wish, and get there any way you wish. Walk, bike, car…
You can photograph anything you wish. There is no theme.
At the end of the two hours, we come back and have lunch of you wish at the Podium. (No host)

Hope that clears things up. In the meantime, here is something from Scott Kelby las minute tips about the walk:

Make some new friends, and enjoy yourself!
    No pressure at all.

    Happy Clicking!

  10. Thanks to everyone that came out Saturday for the PEEP El Paso Scott Kelby WWPW. (That’s a mouthful, eh?)
From your feedback, it appears that everyone had a good time. I think some new friends were made, and everyone got to see the Collaborative Gallery, which is pretty awesome!

Now, on to the next phase:
You should have received information about the WWPW contest. I think you can enter up to 5 images…Please do so by the deadline and GOOD LUCK! Two years ago, the grand prize winner was from Juarez, so don’t think you don’t have a shot!

I want to personally invite you to several exciting things that are happening through PEEP in the coming months:

As we mentioned, The PEEP Foto Fiesta happens every Saturday in October. The remaining sessions are at the El Paso Art Association , 500 W Paisano from 9AM-12PM and feature 2 sessions. This week will be Del Humberson presenting on Astro Landscape Photography and Tina Dwyer on Portrait Photography. We hope that you can make time to come out and support these as well as the other presenters throughout October.

On November 6, you and your friends are invited to celebrate the 1 Year Anniversary of the PEEP Photographer’s Collaborative. This celebration will take place from 6-8 PM at 1400 Texas Ave (you were there yesterday). Come enjoy free snacks courtesy of the Podium and PEEP, as well as beer and wine and lots of excellent photography. A great opportunity to support your fellow photographers, share with your friends, and maybe get a head start on your holiday shopping!

The PEEP member’s show, PEEPshow ’25 is up through February at the El Paso International Airport. If you are near there, please drop in and take a look at the awesome photographic talent we have in PEEP. It is located in the lobby of the Rental Car Facility.

Finally, although it is some time away, PEEP will be hosting photographers from multiple states as part of the Gulf States Camera Club Council 2026 Convention, May 28-30, 2026. Great guest speakers (Wayne Suggs Keynote), awesome workshops, and a bunch of really neat field trips are all planned. Early registration is only $85 for all three days. The Convention Hotel will be the Downtown Doubletree. Check the website for details. We hope to see ALL of you around the Convention, and we are taking proposals to present, so if you feel like presenting, why not do it at the GSCCC ’26? You can become famous for a day or two.

Thank you again for helping make the PEEP version of the WWPW a great success! Get those entries in ASAP.

    Tim

  11. Happy Friday Photo Walkers!
Just a friendly reminder that the PEEP Foto Fiesta continues this Saturday at 500 W Paisano starting at 9 AM. Feel free to bring a friend. As always, there’s no cost to attend!
