Where We Will Meet

At the pier on the Promanade

Where The Walk Will End

Beach House Tacos on the Ventura Pier

About This Walk

About the walk. This is a little different than most walks as the walk route is actually an area that will include the Ventura promenade from Surfers Point up to and including the Ventura Pier. It also includes the Ventura Downtown area. All within walking distance of the start and end of the walk.

We’re going to start on the Promenade at the Pier. However, you can start anywhere you like on the official walk area.  We do this because there’s a lot to photograph on this walk and that beautiful morning light can be fleeting. Wildlife at surfers point, surfers, walkers, fisherman, seascapes, long exposure at the pier as well as the sunrise are just some of the creative fodder we’ll get to experience and photograph. The downtown area offers opportunities for street photography, still life and lifestyle images. A lot to experience and photograph.

The end of the walk will be on the pier for our group picture. A tradition we’ve been able to develop over the years. Then a short hop over to Beach House  Tacos for some food and a meet and greet. In my opinion, the best part of the walk.

I get asked all the time about what skill level is required for the walk. And I always say the same thing. Whatever you shoot with, phone, point and shoot, DSLR’s and all other variations are welcome. Including no restrictions on age limit. All ages are welcome but under 18 must be chaperoned.  There will be plenty of skilled photographers on the walk that will be more than willing to help out. Just ask.

I think that’s it. Please come and join us, lots of great people, some that have become close friends over the years because of the walk.
