About This Walk

Join Geoffry Faulkner and the Tracy Camera Club as we host a Kelby Worldwide Photowalk in beautiful downtown Tracy! The sun will rise at 7:05AM this morning behind city hall and by 8:30 will still be low in the sky. We will start at Tracy City Hall where there is some interesting architecture and a fountain. We will then walk south down East street towards 6th St. There are some beautiful storefronts here, colorful buildings, and old doors. The Transit center is there for more architecture, plants, shrubbery, and flowers. In the middle of the 6th St. roundabout is a sculpture representing Tracy history. From there we will walk north on Central to find the Grand Theatre (hopefully the exterior work will be complete by October), the Farmer’s Market with vendors, fruits, vegetables, and plenty of people. The fire station at 9th St. and Central has a statue outside, more plants, and more architecture. We might even catch sight of a fire engine or two. From there we can travel up 10th St. to see some older homes, businesses and buildings, and end up back at Tracy City Hall.

This walk is flat and should be quite accessible. I have the route marked at 1.1 miles and planned for 2 hours.

October can be quite warm so I hope that walking early will keep us out of the heat. Be sure to pack sunscreen, water, and some money for snacks once we get to the Farmer’s Market!

After the walk we can meet at a restaurant if we can find somewhere to accommodate a large group…depending how many sign up. Huckleberries is usually busy, Town and Country packed for breakfast, maybe a room at iHop would be good. Any food / drink ordered will be your responsibility to pay.
