About This Walk
Welcome to a journey through the raw, authentic, and hidden side of Alexandria!
Join me for an immersive street and documentary photo walk where we will explore the untold stories of the city. We will start our walk at the infamous and historic Raya & Sakina House in the Al Labban district. From there, we will dive deep into Al Faraheda, a vibrant industrial neighborhood famous for its metalwork shops, timber yards, and skilled artisans.
What to Expect to Shoot: This area is a paradise for street photography and environmental portraits. We will focus on capturing the dramatic lighting of the dark workshops, the flying sparks of metalworking, and the unscripted daily life of the local craftsmen.
Gear & Tips:

Lenses: A wide-angle lens (like 16-35mm) or a fast prime lens (35mm or 50mm) will be perfect for these tight, moody spaces.

Approach: Since these are real working environments, we will focus on building a friendly connection with the workers before pointing our cameras. A smile goes a long way!
After The Walk (The Grand Finale): After we finish exploring Al Faraheda, we will see how the group feels! Based on our energy and group consensus, we can take a short ride together to the picturesque El Max Lighthouse (the “Venice of Alexandria”). There, we can capture the local fishermen, enjoy the coastal sunset, and sit at a local cafe to review our shots, share feedback, and celebrate a great day of photography.

أهلاً بيكم في جولة تصوير مختلفة جداً في الجانب الأصيل والخفي من إسكندرية!
انضموا ليا في فوتو واك وثائقي لتصوير الشارع هنستكشف فيه حكايات وتفاصيل مش كل الناس بتشوفها. هنبدأ الجولة بتاعتنا من مكان تاريخي وله قصص كتير، وهو “بيت ريا وسكينة” في حي اللبان. ومن هناك هندخل في قلب منطقة “الفراهدة”، وهي منطقة صناعية وتجارية عريقة مشهورة بورش الحدادة ومسابك المعادن وتجار الخشب.
هنصور إيه؟ المكان هناك كنز لتصوير الشارع (Street Photography) والبورتريه البيئي. هنركز على تصوير الإضاءة الدرامية جوه الورش المظلمة، شرار النار والمعادن، وحياة العمال والحرفيين وتفاصيل يومهم العفوية.
نصايح للمعدات: يفضل استخدام عدسة واسعة (زي 16-35mm) أو عدسة برايم (زي 35mm أو 50mm) عشان تطلع بنتائج ممتازة في المساحات الضيقة وتفاصيل الورش. (وأهم حاجة الابتسامة واحترام مساحة العمال واحنا بنصورهم).
نهاية اليوم: بعد ما نخلص تصوير في الفراهدة، هنشوف طاقة المجموعة إيه! لو متفقين وحابين، ممكن نتحرك مع بعض ونروح “فنار المكس” (فينيسيا الإسكندرية). هناك هنصور الصيادين، ونقعد على قهوة نراجع صورنا وندردش عن تجربة التصوير.
