About This Walk
Starting at 60 Seaport Boulevard, in the Courtyard in from of Kings and Alamo Theater, this walk will explore the contrasts that define Boston’s Seaport and Fort Point districts. We’ll begin along Fan Pier and Marina Park, following the Harbor walk with sweeping views of the skyline, sailboats, and working harbor life. From there the route leads toward Congress Street, pausing at the Boston Children’s Museum waterfront and the historic Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, both offering opportunities to capture history against the modern city backdrop.
Crossing toward Fort Point, we’ll walk by the red-brick warehouses and bridges that once defined Boston’s industrial waterfront, now repurposed as studios and startup headquarters. Just steps away, the gleaming glass towers of the Seaport create a striking visual counterpoint. The walk continues through new parks and walkways, past the playful pink façade of the Museum of Ice Cream, and on to Pier 4 Boulevard and the bold modern lines of the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). Along the way we’ll pause at boardwalks, public seating areas, and busy street corners where reflections, textures, and candid street scenes invite creativity.
We will start at 1;00pm and end at 3:30pm, at the beginning of Golden Hour.
This compact two-mile loop blends history and modern design, harbor views and architectural drama — a setting full of variety for photographers of every style. I am David A. Rosen, a Boston Seaport–based photographer and author of IMAGE FRONTIERS. From my home base overlooking the harbor, I explore and document the city’s changing waterfront, lead photowalks throughout Boston, and share images and stories that connect architecture, people, and place. My work combines Street, Cityscapes, and fine-art photography with community engagement, encouraging others to see familiar streets and skylines in new ways.
