About This Walk
This will be a fun Photo Walk at Kingwood’s East End Park. We will meet at the entrance to the park at the north end of the parking lot and walk the East Loop Trail through the large meadow and down to the San Jacinto River. From there we will walk along the river and then the trail goes back into the forest and returns to the parking lot. It is a relatively easy trail for most people, might be good to wear shoes suitable for walking on dirt and gravel, there are also several wooden bridges that cross wetland areas. The walk is just under 2 miles in length. We hope to start at 8 am to get the morning light and finish before it might get hot outside; October weather is unpredictable
This walk will be a good opportunity for landscape photos, macro work, scenes along the riverfront, and hopefully images of wildlife such as birds and alligators. The best camera is the one you have with you so you are fine with whatever you like to carry, could be a smart phone or a fancy DSLR or mirrorless.
Only park in the parking lot if you have a K sticker on your vehicle, if not then just park on the street adjoining the parking lot.
After the walk we will meet at Coco’s Crepes and Coffee for some fellowship and refreshments.
I ran a successful commercial photo studio for 35 years in Houston before retiring to Kingwood. I am very active still in photography and am currently the president of the Kingwood Photography Club.
