Where The Walk Will End

We will gather at a Café near Axel Towers and Axel Torv

About This Walk

This years Worldwide Photowalk (Copenhagen edition) will take is through parts of the newly established Carlsbergbyen, Copenhagens newest neighbourhood. It was built in the area of the original Carlsberg Brewery, and many of the original buildings have been used and repurposed, and in between it all, new high-rise building have been erected, and the district now offers 3,100 residential apartment’s, offices, shops, café’s, restaurants and stores. While parts of it is still under construction, it certainly is still worth a visit, and offers many photo-ops for the start of our walk.

After visiting parts of Carlsbergbyen, we pass through Frederiksberg and Vesterbro, and end up just across Tivoli Gardens at Axel Torv just besides the Axel Towers.

Already 72 spots have been taken, and while there was a limit of 50 walkers on the roster previous years, it seems this limit has been raised. If you are informed that you will be placed on a waiting list, go ahead and join it. A few walkers always pull out making room for those on the waiting list. While only those actually registered for the walk has the option of competing in the regional and worldwide competitions, I have added an additional price, exclusively attending OUR walk, be that as a registered walker or those on the waiting list.

I will pick a winner based on ALL the photos submitted in our Facebook group (deadline for submission will be one week after the walk, ie. Saturday Oktober 12th 2024 at 23.59), and the winner will have the opportunity to arrange a two-hour, one-on-one street photography session, with me, where the winner can pick my brain (nothing held back) about any photography topics of interest, even non-street photography subjects. The winner and I will arrange the details for our session together.

I have written an article with a few tips and suggestions on street photography (also applies to photography in general), that you might find an interesting read. I have no intention of telling anyone how- and what to photograph, but if you feel that most of your images look like snapshots (not that there is anything wrong with snapshots) and would like to find ways to make your photographs invoke feelings rather than simply document what you see, this might be an article worth reading: https://delfer.dk/street-photography-tips/

SO if you end up joining the waiting list, please join our group on Facebook, to be able to participate in this extra contest. In our Facebook group we also chat and share more of our images after the walk: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1638751489727351

OK – with that out of the way, heres the map of this years walk:

  1. Weather tomorrow will be amazing. 14° C with no wind to speak of and no precipitation, but remember: It is not summer anymore, so dress appropriately.

PLEASE be on time at Carlsberg Station no later than 13.34. Group leaders will be there apprx. half an hour earlier.

I will be bringing handouts with a map of the route, but if you want a digital version for you phone, you can get it here: https://delfer.dk/diverse/out/wwpw24/handout-2024.pdf

I have written an article with a few tips on Street Photography. You can read it here: https://delfer.dk/street-photography-tips/

The prizes for the contest part of the Worldwide Photowalk have been posted, you can see them here: https://worldwidephotowalk.com/prizes/. Information on how to participate will be sent out via email soon. Please be mindful of the deadline. We have had walkers on the Copenhagen Edition of the Worldwide Photowalk win prizes (even the Grand Prize one year), and I would love for that to happen again.

But we have another way of sharing the images we make during the walk, and that is in our Facebook group, where I will pick a winning photograph and the photographer will get a two hour one-on-one with me, where they get to pick my brain about anything photography related. So if that has any interest to you, please jopin our Facebook group and share the images you make during our Photowalk tomorrow: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wwpwcph

I cant wait to meet you all. It looks like it will be the biggest walk in the 12 years I’ve been leading the Copenhagen Edition of the Worldwide Photowalk with currently 78 people that have signed up to participate in the walk.

    With best regards

    Henrik Delfer
