Beach Access at Sunny Isles Pier / Newport Fishing Pier

Where The Walk Will End

to be announced shortly

About This Walk

OUR WALK:

We will be starting our walk at the beach access for the Sunny Isles Pier / Newport Beach Pier 20 mins before blue hour. We will then photograph the pier, the beach and surrounding area through blue hour, golden hour, and sunrise. We will stay at this location until 7:45 am. After that we will start making our way North up Collins Ave capturing the city of Sunny Isles, its Spectacular hi-rise architecture and its sights. Our walk will be less than a mile. After completing the walk will be able to sit and enjoy a coffee, or tea, and discuss our photo-walk and share photos and or ideas. I will add the end of the photo-walk meeting location shortly.

This photo walk is for everyone regardless of the camera used and experience level. We will have fun exploring photography styles while exploring a small part of what Sunny Isles has to offer. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes since we will be walking and standing, also dress comfortable since it will most likely be hot. Bring water although there are places along our route you can purchase refreshments. For gear, bring whatever you use for your photography, cell phone, point and shoot, DSLR, mirrorless, film etc. Wide angle lenses work great for full building, cityscapes, and wide creative shots. Zoom lenses and tele-photo lenses work better if you want to compose tighter compositions.

ABOUT ME:

I am a South Florida native and been photographing since the 80’s starting out with film. Back then I took a black and white developing class at Miami Dade College. Other than that class I am self-taught and self-learned. For much of the 80’s I specialized in photographing singers and performers with my niche being capturing multiple exposures in camera.  I got my first digital camera about 5 years or so after digital cameras came out, and resumed photography at that time with a Nikon D40. My next camera was a Nikon D90 with which I started covering local Fashion Weeks, and Swim Weeks, and exploring my own creative photography ranging from macro, to travel, and many more styles in between. My camera of choice varies depending on my photography project. My current cameras used are my Samsung S23-Ultra, Sony RX-100 vii, Olympus OM-D micro 4/3’s, various Nikon film, and digital cameras, and my DJI Mavic Air 2’s.  My current photography projects are, anything that captures my interest.

Note: There is some parking at the pier with meters. Additional parking is a couple blocks away across the street.
