WORLDWIDE Photowalk: Discovering Cómpeta’s Hidden Beauty

Join me on an inspiring photo walk through the charming white village of Cómpeta, nestled in the heart of Andalusia. With your camera or smartphone in hand, we’ll explore narrow, sun-dappled alleys, rustic plazas, vibrant architectural details, and the region’s rich cultural backdrop in shifting light and perspective. Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, all are welcome! I’ll share creative tips on composition, lighting (especially during the golden hour), and local photographic gems. We’ll end our stroll with a casual coffee and a chance to review our favorite shots together.

About Me:

I am Eric Berger, a professional Master Photographer and long-time Adobe Certified Expert based in Vienna and Competa. As the CEO of the LIK Academy for Photography and Design and publisher/editor‑in‑chief of Fotocult Magazine, I’ve been shaping the world of photography education and visual arts since 1984  .

My journey began in 1979 with my first photographic steps during a school trip to Russia. During my business studies in the 1980s, I became multiple times Austrian Youth State Champion and later passed the master craftsman’s examination in photography in Linz  .

Over the years, I’ve founded Austria’s first private photography school (“Focus”) in 1984, evolved into digital education (Vis‑Com Academy around 2000), and launched the LIK Academy with locations in Austria and Spain from 2010 onward  . I’ve led seminars and workshops across Europe, earned recognition as a Hasselblad Masters Finalist (2016), served as Olympus Ambassador, Adobe Influencer, and more recently founded the LIK Academy’s branch in Cómpeta, Málaga, where we continue to empower visual storytellers.

Acompáñame en un inspirador paseo fotográfico por el encantador pueblo blanco de Cómpeta, en el corazón de Andalucía. Con tu cámara o smartphone en mano, exploraremos callejuelas estrechas bañadas por la luz, plazas pintorescas, detalles arquitectónicos vibrantes y el trasfondo cultural de la región desde diferentes perspectivas. Tanto principiantes como fotógrafos experimentados son bienvenidos. Compartiré consejos creativos sobre composición, iluminación (especialmente durante la hora dorada) y rincones fotográficos únicos. Finalizaremos el recorrido tomando un café y compartiendo nuestras imágenes favoritas.

👤 Sobre mí

Soy Eric Berger, fotógrafo profesional y Master Photographer, así como Adobe Certified Expert, con base en Viena y Andalucía. Como CEO de la LIK Akademie für Foto und Design y editor en jefe de la revista Fotocult, llevo desde 1984 dedicado a la enseñanza de la fotografía y las artes visuales (ericberger.biz).

Mi camino en la fotografía comenzó en 1979 durante un viaje escolar a Rusia. En los años 80 fui varias veces campeón juvenil de Austria y más tarde obtuve el título de maestro fotógrafo en Linz. En 1984 fundé la primera escuela privada de fotografía en Austria, y desde entonces he liderado proyectos educativos y creativos en toda Europa.

He impartido seminarios y talleres internacionales, fui finalista de Hasselblad Masters (2016), embajador de Olympus, influencer de Adobe y actualmente impulso la sede de la LIK Akademie en Cómpeta (Málaga), donde continuamos inspirando a nuevas generaciones de narradores visuales (ericberger.biz).
