About This Walk
Whitefish Point is a beautiful and historic location in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is home to Lake Superior’s oldest lighthouse, memorials to shipwreck victims, huge piles of driftwood, and wildlife. On this walk, we Weill be meeting near the lighthouse (in the parking lot) before golden hour. We will walk down the beach searching for compositions along the shoreline, and photograph the sunset there. After the sun sets, we will have a little bit of time to enjoy the dark skies of Lake Superior. If we’re lucky, the northern lights may even show up! Make sure to bring your camera, a tripod, and a flashlight! because once the sun sets it gets DARK.
