About This Walk
With the above average high temperatures we are experiencing, this photowalk will be held mostly indoors. However, we will have access to the entire indoor and outdoor facilities of the Museum. On the grounds of the museum there is a running mini railroad, and a Depot that will be available to photograph. There is the Kress Depot (built in 1918), a reconditioned AT&SF Caboose, and Pullman Superintendent’s Car, and the mini railroad. The museum itself has many railroad artifacts on display and several complete model and toy train layouts. The Museum’s mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and educate the public about the role and transportation history of Texas and that of the American Southwest.
Note: there is a $2.00 entry fee to the Museum grounds per individual.
UPDATE: Everything is on schedule. Meet at front entrance between 8;45-9:00am for preliminary info and payment for Museum entry of $2.00 and group photo. Meeting afterwards TBA.
One request by Museum curator is not to move anything that you might want to photograph.
Tripods and flash can be used in the museum.
Ask parent or guardian for consent if you want to photograph any children that may be present.
See you Saturday Morning.
Afterward we will meet at the Common Grounds CoffeeHouse, 809 Main St. (Corner of Main and Austin Ave). The meeting room has been reserved for 11:00 to 12:30. The collection plate will be circulated to cover the rental fee of approximately $40.00. Food and drink will be at your expense.
