About This Walk
The iconic Merlion is Singapore’s mascot, and the starting point for our photo-walk this morning.
Merlion Park and its surroundings offer a number of interesting opportunities to capture the first rays of the sun. The rising sun flanked by some of the most recognizable Singapore landmarks – the Marina Bay Sands, the Art and Science Museum and the Singapore Flyer – make this one of the best locations to photograph sunrise in the city. Depending upon your choice of composition, you can also include the Merlion itself in the frame as a foreground element of interest.
Having explored the area around Merlion park for some sunrise and golden hour shots, we will make our way across the Jubilee Bridge, capturing some interesting frames along the way as well as at the end of the bridge.
Our focus will now shift to the skyscrapers lining up the city skyline. We will walk along the waterfront promenade next to the Theatres and photograph the Singapore skyline in soft morning light, utilizing a variety of interesting foregrounds and framing opportunities.
The walk will conclude near the Outdoor Theatres by the waterfront.
This is a casual and fun activity for Saturday morning. No prior experience is needed. Just come with your camera of choice (mobile phones are fine too) and your passion for photography!
