About This Walk
Hi, for those who may not know me, my name is Vicki Mudd and I have been leading this KelbyOne WWPW for about 10 years now, minus the 2 year break due to COVID-19 restrictions and limitations.
I am very excited that the KelbyOne organization has decided to resume the photo-walk and I am really looking forward to getting to see some familiar faces and also some new ones.
We will be meeting at the south gate of the Old State Capitol Building (526 E. Adams) at 9:15am. (It is the gate on the Herndon/Lincoln Law Offices side of the plaza.) We will be photographing inside the Old State Capitol Building, then proceeding to the Farmer’s Market. After photographing at the Farmer’s Market and some of the other points of interest downtown, we will proceed to the Illinois State Capital Building to take photos inside the building.
In order to enter the Illinois State Capital Building, you will need to provide a valid form of identification such as a current driver’s license or a current Illinois ID card. Also, you need to be prepared to have your camera bag scanned and possible searched, as well as yourself. There are walk-through scanners inside the visitor’s entrance to the Illinois Capitol Building. I recommend not have anything that MIGHT set off the alarm either on you or in your bag.
We will end the photowalk at 11:45am outside the Cafe MOXO where everyone is invited to stay and have lunch together and share our photos and/or a time of fellowship and conversation.
This is always a fun activity and I am going to be scouting out a few new things to explore and photograph. Hope to see you there.
Vicki
P.S. My husband, Jim, will be leading the KelbyOne WWPW at New Salem State Park again this year. As before the walk will begin at the New Salem Visitor’s Center later in the afternoon and will go until after dark. This is also always a fun time together and I hope many of you will join there as well. If you are able to make both that would be great, but if you can only make one of the events, that is great as well! Look for the details under the New Salem name with Leader Jim Mudd.
Paul Moore So glad the Kelby Photo Walk is back. Be nice to get back to Springfield! See you then.
