About This Walk
Welcome to the Redding, California Photowalk! All experience levels are welcome from large camera bodies and lenses to the phone camera you carry in your pocket. There are no fees to participate. Come and enjoy!
Our Photowalk will be along Market Street where we can find great street photography, history, art, and amazing murals. We’ll start the Photowalk with a guided tour of the historical Cascade Theater at 9:30. This will be immediately followed by a guided tour of Redding’s historic Fire House 1 at 11:00. Afterward, we’ll have plenty of time to collect some great images along Market Street.
This will be a rain or shine photowalk as some of our time will be indoors. The walk from the Cascade to Fire House 1 is a few city blocks with LOTS to photograph along Market and the side streets.
Currently, parking is free downtown on weekends. You should find lots of open street parking immediately south of the Cascade Theater.
I’m Scott Allshouse and I’ve volunteered to organize the Photowalk this year. I’ve enjoyed photography all over the world since my Navy career. These days you’ll find me on trails all over Northern California with my Corgi, Abbie looking for amazing images. I look forward to meeting you.

Redding Photowalkers, October 5th will be here soon and we have a great itinerary planned including a photo tour of the Cascade Theater, Redding Firehouse 1, and the Market Street Promenade Art and Murals walk. I’d like to recommend you check your batteries and memory cards to ensure you are ready. We’ll be doing photography indoors and outdoors. Be prepared to boost the ISO on your camera for the indoor photography at the Cascade. Do some test shots at home at higher ISOs and different apertures to know how you’ll get the best results. We want to make sure you come away with lots of great images.
