Tradition Square

Where The Walk Will End

We'll meet back at Tradition Square after exploring the area

About This Walk

Join us for a photographic stroll around Tradition on October 5, 2024! We’ll begin and end in Tradition Square (the grassy square between SW Tradition Sq and SW Meeting Street). During the walk, we’ll roam around the fountains, check out the gazebo and lake, admire some of the architectural details, and meet some new photo friends! All levels of photography experience are welcome! Whether you use a DSLR, a mirrorless camera, your phone, or something else entirely, if you like to take photos, we’d love for you to join us on October 5. Did we mention this event is free? Space is limited, though. Sign up here and you’ll receive periodic updates as we get closer to the walk. See you there!

UpdateOctober 5th, 2024

So far, so good! It’s a little cloudy, but fingers crossed, we’ll get the walk in! I hope to see you soon!

Happy Photo Walk Eve!October 4th, 2024

Good evening, and happy Friday! Just one last check-in from me, but I wanted to remind everyone: If you have not yet done so, be sure and check your batteries and your memory, and get your gear ready for tomorrow!

By the way, should anyone need to get a hold of me tomorrow, my cell phone is (772) 332-7667. Should anything major develop, I will post an update here, but if you have any questions or concerns and need to get a hold of me on Saturday, feel free to call/text.

See you soon!

About our WalkOctober 2nd, 2024

Good evening! I hope everyone’s week is going well so far, and I can’t wait to meet you all at Tradition on Saturday. Here are a few things to keep in mind for our walk:

1. If you know anyone who might join us, please encourage them to sign up on our walk page. It’s free to sign up, and there may be a prize for one of your photos after the walk! (But you have to be registered here to participate in that).

2. Please keep an eye on the weather. It can be fickle around here, but I’m hopeful that we’ll have nice conditions for our event.

3. Please keep an eye out here. Should there be any last-minute changes due to weather (or any other circumstances), I’ll post an update here to let you all know.

4. Dress comfortably! We won’t walk too far, but we will wander around the Tradition area, so be sure and dress comfortably 🙂

5. I would recommend bringing water and possibly bug repellant with you. While we won’t be walking too far or strenuously, I think it’s always a good idea to have some water.

6. We’ll meet in Tradition Square (if you’re unfamiliar with this location, it’s the big grassy park area near Sake II and Tutti Frutti). In fact, let’s plan on meeting closer to the flag poles in the square, and we’ll take a group selfie before we get started.

7. From the square, I am planning on walking towards the lake and then following the sidewalk towards the gazebo, stopping for whatever catches my eye along the way. Of course, we may deviate from this during the event, but this is my “starting point.”

8. Following our walk, we will return to the square where we started. Grab something to eat from one of the many options in the area, and we can meet back in the square and hang out. You may wish to bring a chair with you for this, as benches are limited.

9. HAVE FUN! These walks are great opportunities to meet some new people, take some cool photos, and explore the area.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

See you soon!
-Chris

Thank you for joining this walk!September 28th, 2024

Happy Saturday, photo walkers! I can’t believe we’re less than a week away from our walk. Where has the time gone? Thanks so much for signing up to be a part of this photo walk. I’m excited to take part in the event again, after taking a few years off. I’ll be sharing some additional updates about our walk, but in the meantime, feel free to message me or post any questions you might have here on our page.

A little about me: I led my first photo walk as part of this event waaaaaay back in 2010 in Stuart. Since then, I’ve led walks in Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, as well. I was born and raised in Fort Pierce, lived in Orlando for a couple of years while in college, then returned to St. Lucie County — I currently live in Port St. Lucie with my wife, our daughter, a schnoodle named Luna, and rabbit named Forrest. I love the area, and I’ve had the opportunity to work for TCPalm and Treasure Coast Newspapers, Cleveland Clinic, as well as Indian River State College and, currently, at St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners. I have worked within various communications roles throughout my career, with a heavy focus on visual communications and social media. I love photo and video, and that’s one of the reasons I really enjoy events like this photo walk.

I can’t wait to meet you at the walk!
