About This Walk

Salisbury has an amazing history and is full of character, old buildings and photo opportunities. The Cathedral is simply spectacular.

From January to December 2019, Salisbury Cathedral will have an interactive exhibition called ‘Pulling Out The Stops’. It follows the fascinating story of the Cathedral’s famous Father Willis Organ, from its original construction in 1877 to the present day, including the extensive restoration work being carried out on it throughout 2019.

We will be taking a leisurely walk around the city centre towards the Cathedral and back again in a large circle. Our walk will be mainly flat and easy to navigate.

This is the 12th year of Scott’s World Wide Photowalks. They are always a good couple of hours out with the camera and a great chance to meet and greet other photographers.

If you have any questions, please just ask.

Car parking might be busy on a Saturday so I would highly recommend the currently free to use Park & Ride scheme. It is quick and efficient and will drop you off right next to our meeting place. There are several Park & Ride locations around the city and the buses are very frequent to use.

After the Photowalk has finished, there is always the opportunity to take a Golden Hour sunset shot of Salisbury Cathedral across the water meadows, as painted by Constable and Turner. Sunset is at 18:35 and Dusk at 19:05. If the light is good, I will probably be staying on for this shot as it is only a few minutes walk away from where we will be for our shoot. If anyone wants to join me there, please just say.

All ages and abilities are welcome but any under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult at all times please.
