Where The Walk Will End

About This Walk

We will meet up at the Arboretum at 10:30 at the visitors parking lot. We will plan to be inside for about two hours and meet back up at the Visitors Parking lot. Afterwards, for those who are interested we will go grab lunch together. As we get closer to the walk date, we will do a poll to see which  restaurant everyone prefers.

Please wear comfortable shoes, make sure you charge your batteries and have an empty memory card for your camera. If you have any questions about the walk, please feel free to contact me anytime. If you have any questions about what you should bring or equipment to use, etc., I am available to answer those questions as well. As a full time nature photographer as well as instructor for over a decade now, I can help with most questions. If I don’t know the answer, I will help you find it.

I look forward to meeting you and having an awesome Walk for a Great Cause! And remember … you get to enter ONE image into the final contest, so plan it with each shot, think about it, look at it from different angles, get creative, remember the rules of photography and know when to break them, but most of all, plan to have fun and meet lots of awesome fellow photogs! 🙂

Join Walk

Elaine Bullard I am excited to meet everyone. Once we finish the walk do you think I would be able to drive up to Central State and shoot some photos of the buildings and campus.

Rena Johnson Trying to reply to your comment again to see if it will go through. Otherwise, please see comments below. Elaine Bullard, I have tried to reply to your comment a couple of times but there seems to be a glitch in the system. It keeps disappearing. I am excited to meet everyone as well. As far as Central State goes, I am sure you could go shoot some from the outside. Just be very careful about getting to close or going inside. They are very strict about that and have security watching the grounds. I have shot some out there myself in the past and if everyone wanted to go there rather than to lunch, we could do that as well or get something and take it out there. Whatever everyone wants to do is fine with me.

Elaine Bullard No worries. Rena. I have heard you can walk around the grounds just not enter the buildings. I have heard that the state is going to demolish them soon. That is why I want to photograph them. Even though the history of the place is horrible I want to capture it in photographs to where history will not repeat itself. . I am coming down from Marietta Ga and hope to have two friends with me. I have asked them to sign up for the walk.

Mckysemail Enjoyed the photo walk with everyone today. Sorry I couldn't do the Central State Hospital, the heat was just too much for me. Would love to see everyone's favorite photos from today. Is there a way we can share those with each other? Or will you share the entries from the contest Rena?
