After an hiatus of almost two years the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk is on again.

Kalk Bay has been chosen for this year’s Walk. Voted the coolest neighborhood in the world in 2018 it is a village nestled between the steep mountainside and the sea on the False Bay coast and is a gold mine of photo opportunities. Quirky and quaint shops aplenty, picturesque little back streets oozing character all waiting to be snapped.

Ordinarily October is Walk month but August (the middle of our winter!) it is this year so be prepared for rain!

We will start from Ohana Cafe and amble, as you will, in any ol’ direction. The Main Road has many interesting shop fronts and exploring up the narrow back streets will reward you with some interesting possibilities. The harbour at the other end of Kalk Bay never fails to deliver something of interest.

We will meet up around mid day back at Ohana Cafe for coffee (and eats, if you’ve worked up an appetite) and a chinwag with your fellow togs.

I look forward to meeting you.

Oh, I’m John Rayner, your leader (so, when confronted by an alien, you know where to direct him).

Old school photography is where I began my interest, as any grey-haired gits would have. I took the bold step to digital around 2007 and haven’t looked back. Architecture, nature and, as many of you know, mushrooms (I eat some of them) are my interest.

I can be reached on 073 360 1710 and cajon@mweb.co.za.
