Where We Will Meet
Tobacco Museum in Northwest Park:
Where The Walk Will End
Tobacco Museum in Northwest Park
About This Walk
We’ll stay in the park because of the weather, be careful driving past the rotary into the park, there are a number of traffic humps. We’ll meet in the Tobacco Museum at 12pm and consider how heavy it’s raining. Enter the park on the left side of the parking lot and walk along the path over the green bridge with the pond on your left. Follow the path to the second building on your left which will be the Tobacco Museum.. If it is only light showers, we’ll have a short discussion about taking pictures in the rain. I’ll have a map of the park and a rain sleeve for your lens and a camera. Bring a tripod, cloth for wiping your lens, umbrella, rain jacket and appropriate footwear if you decided to be brave enough to venture out into the park.
If the rain is heavy, we’ll stay in the tobacco museum and take photographs inside. There won’t be a lot of light in the barn, so either a flash or a high ISO might come in handy, perhaps a tripod. In any case, be prepared for wet weather, umbrella, rain jacket and appropriate footwear, you still need to walk from your car to the museum. For those who wish to stay, we’ll travel to a nearby restaurant, La Notte Waterside Grille, 936 Blue Hills Ave Ext, Windsor, CT 06095, for a late lunch and share stories and images from the day.

It’s Going to RAIN Saturday!October 5th, 2023
The weather forecast for Saturday sure looks like there will be rain, it’s just not clear on how much or how hard the rain will be coming down. Because of the uncertainty of the weather I’m modifying our meeting time to 12pm, the meeting place to a dry location in Northwest Park at the Tobacco Museum, and confining the activity to within the park.. Please check the Photowalk Description for these updates.
