About This Walk

Hello, I am Rich of RichFotografi.com

Glasgow City Centre is a dream location for new and experienced street photographers.

We will wander slowly along Buchanan Street, through George Square, along Queen Street, past the Gallery of Modern Art, the Duke of Wellington aka ‘Cone Heid’, lots and lots of alleyways, the Squiggly Bridge and Argyll Street to name but a few.

If you love photographing on the streets or want to try it for the first time, you’ll get the opportunity to shoot street portraits, make images of architecture, monuments, film locations, street art by Smug, Panda & Rogue, sticker art, reflections, abstract stuff, vandalised phone boxes, discarded takeaways and really grotty alleyways. Don’t wear your best clothes!

We can grab takeaway snacks or sandwiches and drinks along the way and relax and have a chat in George Square at lunchtime.
Afterwards, if you want to hang around a bit we can find a cafe or bench to share photos and talk about the day.

The Weather
If it is sunny bring sunscreen. If it is raining bring waterproofs. Actually, on reflection, bring both just in case.
If the weather is crazy (like last year when all the trains were cancelled and roads closed through flooding) we can always rethink the route/date or go inside somewhere instead!

Everyone is welcome regardless of experience and kit. Novices will always get help from someone willing to share their knowledge.
We can talk about street photography including composition, respect for your subject, how and when to approach people for a photo and, equally, when not to approach them! And we will have some fun challenges along the way which I will randomly come up with five minutes before you arrive!

Good Afternoon
At the moment I have only one person registered to join the walk on Saturday. I will wait until Wednesday to see if anyone else joins, but if we remain at one I will consider cancelling the walk.
i do apologise and hope that there is more interest in the remaining days.
