About This Walk
Known to many as Saint Louis’ Town Square, Forest Park is America’s premier urban park, featuring 2 square miles of both nature and the best of what is man-made. In addition to scores of species of birds and other animals, Forest Park features the Saint Louis Art Museum, Missouri History Museum, Saint Louis Science Center, skating rink, tennis courts, 2 golf courses and a lot more.
Your guide on this exciting and challenging photo adventure is Saint Louis photographer Edward Crim, best known for his 2009 365-day Forest Park photography project (http://www.ForestPark365.com), his photographic tribute to state capitols (http://www.50-nifty.com), his weekly studio open shoots for models and photographers (http://www.Studio-Creative.org), and the Saturday photography classes he teaches at Studio 858 (http://www.ArtMediaCoop.com).
Come prepared for wildlife (100-600mm range), landscape (16-35mm), architecture (24-120mm) people (70-200mm) and close-up photos (a macro lens in the 100mm range is good). Bring plenty of fully charged batteries and empty memory cards, and be prepared for the day’s weather with comfortable walking clothes and shoes, and a water bottle filled to the top.
Also, bring your photography questions!
