About This Walk

Silver Spring, Maryland was named for the mica found in a spring in 1840. The site of the original spring is in Acorn Park.  This historic landmark and many other interesting sites will be part of our Worldwide Photowalk.

Michael Koren is a free-lance sports and event photographer in the Baltimore Washington metro area specializing in youth sports game-time action and team portraits.  Michael has worked professionally photographing model portfolios, corporate portraits, product photography for catalogs, and client advertising campaigns.

Michael’s passion for photography is shared through his skill as a photography educator.  Michael teaches classes at Montgomery College and Capital Photography Center on a variety of photographic topics including Composition, Mobile Photography and Street Photography. He leads numerous seminars and workshops for local businesses, large and small, and offers personal instruction on topics ranging from beginner to advanced level.

Michael has served as President, Director and Education Chair of the Silver Spring Camera Club in Maryland and serves as Vice President of the Maryland Photography Alliance.
