About This Walk
Join Us for Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk Day in Downtown Jacksonville!
We’re excited to host a photowalk for Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk Day on October 5th at 6:15 pm, starting at Friendship Fountain in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This three-hour photowalk, co-hosted by the Professional Photographers of North Florida (PPNF), will take us through some of Jacksonville’s most iconic locations, offering fantastic opportunities for sunset, night cityscape, and light painting photography.
As a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) and a passionate advocate for the photography community, I’m thrilled to lead this walk alongside PPNF. With over 15 years of experience, my focus has been on capturing the beauty of real estate and architecture, but my love for photography extends to all genres, including night photography. This walk is designed for photographers of all skill levels. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your technique, you’ll find plenty of inspiration.
Tips for the Walkers:
- Bring a Sturdy Tripod: Essential for capturing sharp images in low light and for light painting.
- Experiment with Long Exposures: This will allow you to create stunning light trails and beautifully lit cityscapes.
- Dress Comfortably and Be Prepared: We’ll be moving through various locations, so comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
I look forward to seeing you there and creating some amazing images together!
Dinner afterwards!October 5th, 2024
I forgot to post earlier, a few of us are planning to go to a late dinner afterwards, if anybody would like to join.
Weather updateOctober 5th, 2024
Hello everyone! I am super excited to meet you all and yes, we are still moving ahead as planned. There may be some brief periods of rain, but we should be OK. With that being said, I would recommend bringing a raincoat, and a good bag that is weather resistant to keep your gear in in case there is a shower so your equipment doesn’t get damaged. But the show will go on! See you all soon.
What lenses do you recommend for this shoot? I’m using a full-frame camera.
Hi Julius. Do you have a zoom lens like a 16-35mm or any type of zoom lens?
Fred, my widest zoom is a 24-70mm f/4 lens. My fastest and widest lens is a 28mm f/2.8 prime lens. I have a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens as well.
All of those lenses should work fine
I won’t be able to make it. Sorry to miss it. Have a great time everyone!
