Where We Will Meet

The Queen's Garden

Where The Walk Will End

The Spread Eagle Pub

About This Walk

I hope you’ll join me for this year’s edition of Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk. We will roam the streets of Croydon capturing vibrant life and bold architecture from golden to blue hour (with some cooperation of the weather – fingers crossed). We’ll start from the Queen’s Gardens through Surrey Street Market towards North End and Poplar Walk, back via Wellesley Road and George Street to The Spread Eagle Pub for discussion – distance of (roughly) 1.3 mile.

This walk is very much a social event. If you’re interested in photography you’ll find people that share your passion. It does not matter what camera you bring – film, digital, polaroid, phone, point-n-shoot, SLR, DSLR, mirrorless, medium format, full frame, APS-C, micro4/3, 1″ – all kinds are welcome. After all – the 12 inches behind the camera is the most important bit – as someone wise said some time ago :).

I am an amateur photographer and a member of Lenses of Croydon photography group.

Tomorrow’s the day :)October 5th, 2018

Hello again, Hard to believe after a day like today that tomorrow is supposed to be windy and rainy. The forecast showed full rain cover just a few hours ago – now it seems that the precipitation has been postponed till after the walk. Nevertheless – please be prepared for all conditions and make sure you and your gear is protected. Sometimes a simple solution can do – I used a food bag over my camera with a rubber band on my lens barrel in the past and it worked fine. A handkerchief or a small towel is useful to dry your hand, you’d also need something to wipe your lens glass. I’ll be waiting on the corner of Katharine St. and Fell Rd. If the heaven opens up – in the “tunnel” under Ellis House on St George’s Walk. I’m looking forward to meet all of you. With kind regards, Piotr

  • PiotrTrumpiel Hello all, Please check a few tips from Rick Sammon here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=15&v=-cyuJgQpGok I am hoping for some low light shots so if you have a tripod you can bring it with you. If you don't - you'll be welcome to use mine if you decide to try it yourself. With kind regards Piotr

  • Ros Conti Hi Piotr, l came on the walk yesterday and I am just wondering where and how one can upload their image? Ros

  • RosC Hi Piotr, I couldn't see a place to add the title of my image, it is: "SEARCHING FOR A PHONE!" Ros

    • PiotrTrumpiel Hi Ros, unfortunately there is no place to submit a title for the image but I would rename the file to something like: "SearchingForAPhone.jpg" :). Regards, Piotr
