About This Walk
Saturday, October 7th, 2023, is World Wide Photo Walk Day! There are photographers participating in walks all over the world, all on the SAME DAY!
The Worldwide Photo Walk supports The Springs Of Hope Kenya Orphanage, an organization that feeds, houses, educates and empowers young orphans.
My name is Leslie Chester, I am a professional photographer. I own and operate Firafly Photography here in Bullhead City. I picked up my first SLR camera in 1995, my grandfather’s Olympus OM10, at 19 years old, and haven’t been without a camera since.
I have lead a few other walks in the area, this is one I have wanted to lead for awhile. I am mainly leading this walk to give others the opportunity to participate in the Worldwide Photowalk Day and contest.
Our walk will take place throughout the Colorado River Nature Center in Bullhead City. There will be guided walk from approximately 7:15am-9am.
After 9am it will be a self-guided walk. I am leaving the walk open until noon on Saturday. I know there may be a lot that can not make it out early and this gives you more of a chance to participate.

Recommended gear:
- DSLR or Mirrorless camera
- Wide Angle Lens (for landscapes and distorted close ups)
- Telephoto Lens (something with some nice zoom for birds or animals)
- Camera Card
- Macro Lens (if you have one)
- Water

Richardo Avenue is the street right by Vito’s Pizza. Follow Richardo Avenue West, towards the river. You will see a sign for the entrance to the Nature Center. Pass the sign and follow the road to the parking area. See you then!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!
A few more details regarding the Nature Center:
-Turn on Richardo Avenue and follow west. Veer left at the sign for the Nature Center and follow until you reach the end.
-The road is now fully paved! Hooray!!
-There are vault/pit toilets available if needed. (everybody poops)
-Bring water
-Please pack out any trash you bring -LEAVE NO TRACE
-Charge your cameras/phones
The North West skyline is a bit obstructed with the building of the new bridge but, it could be a cool photo opportunity. It’s all how you see it.
I will be there to answer questions. Thank you for registering. I registered to be a leader because, I really wanted our community represented during this walk.
I recently did something to my foot so, I may not walk the whole way with you.
