About This Walk
Montrose Bird Sanctuary is internationally recognized for its 300 bird species that visit our lakefront. Some of you are regulars here and some have it on your “someday” list. Let’s get together and celebrate Chicago being on the major North American Bird Migration.
Things we’ll hope to see:
- Well, birds
- Local celebrities Monty and Rose (or family)
- Fall foliage
- Chicago skyline
Come even if you don’t have super telephoto lenses and/or are not a birder. We’re doing this for fun, and appreciation of our unique natural occurrence. If you have a drone, this is a great opportunity to launch. After the walk, we’ll walk over to Dollop Coffee for us to connect with each other, grab a light breakfast and share
NOTE: It’s likely there will also be genuine birders present. We will want to be quiet and respectful of them and the birds in this nature area. I intend to exercise a “quiet zone” and “leave no trace” rule for our group.
***If you intend to enter a photo into the WWPW contest, please upload your top photo post-walk on this group’s page so I will be able to select one to submit to Kelby’s international contest
Scott Kelby and his team also want this photowalk to have an impact. Please visit the donation page and consider supporting a cause close to their hearts https://springsofhopekenya.org/
I got the group photo done but don’t see a way to post it here so here is a link for any and all to download.

George
Got it! Thanks George
Might find this interesting – police and fire had to rescue a boater at Montrose Harbor a little while after we left there
