About This Walk

Come and join me, an experienced Photowalk organiser for the last five years, my third year with KelbyOne, as we walk around Central London. What will surprise you is how quiet it will be, yes quite. You will see streets still lit by Gas Street Lighting, see where Winston Churchill once lived. See where Sir Francis Chichester (around the world solo yachtsman) lived. See a special Hatmaker who first made the Bowler hat in 1849, still in business today. We see an old fire station that is a top auctioneer today, walk down narrow foot tunnels you probably didn’t know existed. Let’s not forget one of the worlds most famous Hotels either. Yes, all this in one neat and mainly quite off the busy though fair.

There’s something for everyone here, the seasoned Londoner and of course those new to this great city where I was born. So don’t delay, sign up today before it fills up.

I look forward to meeting you.

Photo Contest DeadlineOctober 13th, 2018

For those of you who came on the WWPW, just a friendly reminder that if you are entering a single picture into the contest you need to meet the deadline which is this coming Monday 15th October. The winning entry for this walk will be picked by next Wednesday.

David Bathurst Hello and welcome to this years KelbyOne Worldwide Photowalk. I've been running my own Photowalks all year long since 2014 and this is my 3rd Kelby Walk that I've run. So hopefully you'll be in good hands. Whilst the walk is in the centre of London, you will be surprised just how quiet the walk will be for most of the route. I run my walks is a relaxed manner and the time taken will depend on yourselves. So, please enjoy the stroll around this part of London, I hope to show you places you may not have seen before. The walk will start at 10am next Saturday morning and we all meet at Piccadilly Circus tube station. If you are coming by tube (underground) then as you exit the ticket barrier walk straight ahead and leave via EXIT 3. Turn left as you reach the street level and you should find me just there near the Exit. If you are arriving on foot then this will be on the corner of Piccadilly and Regent Street St James. I will be holding an A4 Sized PHOTOWALK sign. As a backup, I have had people arrive late who have been delayed on the tube then please text me on 07941 085755 as soon as you know you may miss the start time. Please only use this number for the walk as this is my private phone. In addition, I have prepared a double A4 sheet that gives full details of where we will be walking and some idea of what can be seen on the walk. So could I ask you to click on this link and download the PDF file I have prepared for you:- I would suggest you either print it out or if you have a Smartphone download it on there as backup. Please wear comfortable shoes and check the weather forecast to ensure you're dressed appropriately. If it's raining then a plastic bag with no holes punched in it and an elastic band to hold it around to your lens hook would be a good idea, if it's sunny some sun cream and a bottle of water would be a good idea. So I look forward to meeting you on Saturday for a fun few hours. David
