Where The Walk Will End

WE’LL END THE PHOTOSHOOT AT MAXIMO GOMEZ DOMINO PARK

About This Walk

Come and join our incredible Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk in Little Havana. Little Havana’s Calle Ocho is a showcase of South Florida’s diverse cultures with unusual scenes and characters from the Caribbean with spot samples of live music, dancing, domino and chess games, arts and crafts creations, art galleries, cigar rolling stores, and much more.

Calle Ocho is an excellent location for Street Photography where you’ll be able to document its flavor and out-of-the-ordinary ways with strong wall murals as background, interesting characters, artists / shops, musicians, and the traditional domino / chess players.

UPDATE FOR OUR CALLE OCHO PHOTOWALK TOMORROWOctober 6th, 2023

Tomorrow’s weather forecast at 10:00 am for Calle Ocho Little Havana’s Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk is expected to be GOOD with temperatures in the mid-80s (84 degrees), intermittent clouds (70%) and reasonable humidity at 72%… all factors needed for a fun photography day!

We’ll meet at 10:00 am at the entrance to Little Havana’s Domino Park (1444 SW 8 Street, 33035) – Note that there is plenty of (inexpensive) street parking along SW 8 Street and side streets. This is a heavily visited area with tourist buses, take your time, don’t rush it, and come with a positive disposition for a good time.

We’ll stay at Domino’s Park for a few minutes photographing what’s going on and from there we’ll walk East for a couple of blocks along the south sidewalk, returning to the same location along the opposite sidewalk.

See you at Calle Ocho’s Little Havana Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk 2023.

Looking Ahead to Our Photowalk Saturday in Calle Ocho’s Little HavanaOctober 4th, 2023

Please Note: I’ll be sending a message Friday about weather conditions, etc. So far it looks like it’ll be GREAT with no rain and temps in the mid-80s with about 60% humidity.

In the meanwhile, don’t forget to… get your camera ready, charge the battery, check memory card, and gather other items you may want to take. I recommend packing light so you are comfortable and can move around easily. Bring water if you’ll like but there are many cafeterias in the area we’ll walk. Tripods are not advisable due to being big impediments with local foot traffic.

Think about possibly staying after the photowalk for lunch to chit-chat, talk about your image submittals for the contest and discuss how it went.
