About This Walk
The Boston Photo Walk will begin at the Fan Pier located on the corner of Fan Pier Blvd and Waterside Ave, South Boston, MA. We will plan to meet at 6am and begin the walk at 6:15am. We will start our walk along the waterfront. There will be ample opportunities to photograph the Boston skyline along the water. From there, we will walk along the Rose Kennedy Greenway and eventually end up in the North End.
At 9am, we will meet at the North Street Grille at 229 North Street, Boston, MA. This will give us all a chance to meet and share images from our shared journey.
Please note that the restaurant location may change depending on the number of walkers. I will be making reservations in advance, so please let me know if you plan to join the group for breakfast after the walk by e-mailing me at msgtbaumann@yahoo.com .
This is my first time leading a walk. I have previously attended Kelby Worldwide Photowalk’s in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont. I began my photographic journey over 40 years ago while serving in the Air Force in Germany. I was a hobbyist through my military career and after I retired from the service, I went back to school and studied photography at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts – Boston University, Graphic Design at UMass-Lowell, and Art at Middlesex Community College. My photographic interest is primarily focused on seascapes, sports, and fine art.

Looking forward to the walk! Is anyone bringing a tripod? Not sure if i should bring one.
I just wanted everyone know that I am excited to lead our Boston Sunrise Photo Walk on Saturday, October 5th at 6am. As of right now, we have 13 of us participating in the phorowalk. Thank you all for signing up to participate. This should be a lot of fun. I have had a few folks ask me if I recommend bringing a tripod. It may be a good idea for early skyline shots between 6am-6:45am, if you have one. While it can be inconvenient to carry, it never hurts to have one handy. If anyone needs to reach me on Friday, October 4th, please feel free to e-mail me at msgtbaumann@yahoo.com or call me for a quicker response at 617-913-1690. I will be checking e-mail and taking calls until 5pm on Friday evening. After that hour it will be hit or miss. I have an event I will be attending on Friday evening and won’t have access to my e-mail or phone after 5pm. I can take calls the day of the walk (Saturday) beginning at 5am if anyone has any questions or is running behind. Please save my number in case you get separated from the group during the walk. If you get separated from the group during the walk, I am only a call away and can tell you where we are at. I look forward to meeting you all.
John
