About This Walk

I will be hosting a relaxed photo walk at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center geared towards bird photography. We will meet at the parking lot 610 Entrance. Please note parking fee is $5.50 per vehicle. The Houston Arboretum is home to a variety of bird species, including both resident and migratory birds. You can expect to see species like sparrows, warblers, woodpeckers, wrens, and more. There are few popular trails for birding and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

The expectation is that the participants should have a DSLR/Mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens.  A 400mm -600mm range is a good choice for bird photography. This will ensure that you have enough reach for most situations, and you can always add a teleconverter to the mix if you need the increase in range.  This is a good time for bird photography in Houston and hopefully we can see songbirds like warblers, thrushes, tanagers, vireos, and other small perching birds along with some birds like Broad-winged Hawks, Swainson’s Hawks, Mississippi Kites.  After the photo walk, we will drive to Roots cafe and have some coffee and breakfast (at your own expense)

I am a landscape and wildlife photographer and have conducted photo workshops around the globe and is currently a brand ambassador for Fstop Gear, Haida Filters and Fotopro Tripods. Visit my website www.rajbose.com for more details about me.

My Gear- Sony A1 and 200-600mm lens.
