About This Walk
This photo walk is roughly about 2 miles in length. We start at Bayfront Park and walk along the Miami river into the downtown Miami area. From there we will make our way north through downtown and along Biscayne Blvd to NE 6th street and the Bayside Market Place entrance. From there will walk along the bay through the market place to the bay at the SE corner of the market place where there is food truck with seating to review our walk and show captured photos.
During this photo walk we will be able to explore different types of photography discipline’s/styles such as street photography, architectural, landscape, cityscape, bird, scenic, and more.
I am a South Florida native and been photographing since the 80’s starting out with film. Back then I took a black and white developing class at Miami Dade College. Other than that class I am self taught and self learned. For much of the 80’s I specialized in photographing singers and performers with my niche being capturing multiple exposures in camera. I got my first digital camera about 5 years or so after digital cameras came out, and resumed photography at that time with a Nikon D40. My next camera was a Nikon D90 with which I started covering local Fashion Weeks, and Swim Weeks, and exploring my own creative photography ranging from macro, to travel, and many more styles in between. At this time I am still exploring everything that catches my interest.
This photo walk is for everyone regardless of the camera used. We will have fun exploring photography styles while exploring a small part of what Miami has to offer. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes since we will be walking about 2 miles and also dress comfortable as well since it will most likely be hot. Bring water although there may be places along our route you may be able to purchase refreshments. For gear, bring whatever you use for your photography, cell phone, point and shoot, dslr, mirrorless, film etc. For lenses a wide angle for capturing wide shots and scapes, to zooms if you want to compose tighter compositions. Note: Being downtown, parking is a premium. There is paid public parking across the street from the park lot #5 lot #6 costing about $10 for the 2 hours. The metro mover station is also right across the street as well.
