About This Walk
The Bar Harbor Photo Walk will begin at the Water Fountain located in Agamont Park (Corner of Main St. & Newport Dr.). We will plan to meet at 4pm and begin the walk at 4:15pm. Agamont Park will offer numerous photographic opportunities before we set off heading south on Main St. Main Street is a street photographers dream. After a short walk we will spend some time on the Village Green. After some time on the Green, we will head down Albert Meadows and pick up the Shore Path, which will offer spectacular views of Frenchman Bay. We will continue along the Shore Path to the John B. Ells Pier. The pier will offer ample opportunities to photograph various watercraft ranging from row boats and commercial fishing boats. There is also a possibility that a cruise ship or two will be in port. The walking portion of the event will end at 6:15pm. Sunset is at 6:03 pm, so there will be an opportunity to capture a sunset and blue period along the waterfront.
At 6:30pm, we will meet at Geddy’s located at 19 Main St., Bar Harbor for food and drinks. This will give us all a chance to meet and share images from our shared journey.
Please note that the restaurant location may change depending on the number of walkers. I will be making reservations in advance, so please let me know if you plan to join the group for dinner and drinks after the walk.
This is my first time leading a walk. I have previously attended Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk’s in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont. I chose to create this walk in Bar Harbor since I will be up here camping in Acadia National Park. I began my photographic journey over 40 years ago while serving in the Air Force in Germany. I was a hobbyist through my military career and after I retired from the service, I went back to school and studied photography at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts – Boston University, Graphic Design at UMass-Lowell, and Art at Middlesex Community College. My photographic interest is primarily focused on seascapes, sports, and fine art.
