About This Walk
The Adobe photo team is pleased to have Tim Arroyo lead this photo walk as participants embark on a guided tour of the Historic Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Pilsen has been admired for its culture from Eastern European to Mexican immigrants, and is well known for its colorful murals dating back to the Mural Movement of the late 1960’s. In 2018 Pilsen was named one of Forbes 12 Coolest Neighborhoods Around the World, and has only improved on that title. In addition to the coolness factor; Pilsen is also home to the National Museum of Mexican Art that houses one of the country’s largest Mexican art collections; admission to the museum is always free and will be open during our walk.
This photo walk will have something for everyone to experience and photograph from the art, architecture, food and people. The walk will begin at 16th and Morgan Streets where you will find street parking along 16th Street, and Peoria St to the east. We will walk west and turn back at the Natl. Museum of Mexican Art and Harrison Park. The walk will end at Simone’s which is located one block from the starting point, that serves food and drinks so all ages are welcome to hang out after the walk. Tim will discuss Adobe Lightroom Mobile, so have the application loaded on your mobile devices to take photos with the Lightroom camera directly into your Creative Cloud workflow. You can use any camera that you like on this walk, but it is also fun to learn something new along the way. Please bring water, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes and a camera.
Your photo walk leader Tim is an Assistant Professor of Photography at the College of DuPage; he was born in Pilsen and has been a permanent resident of the neighborhood for the past 30 years.

Welcome!August 3rd, 2022
Hi All! I’m TIm, and I will be your Adobe photo walk leader next Saturday [Aug 13]. Please use the Discussion area of the walk page for any questions, comments or concerns that you may have for me regarding the walk. As mentioned in the walk description I am a photographer, Assistant Professor of Photography at the College of DuPage, and a long time resident of the Pilsen neighborhood; so you are all in good hands. For anyone who is interested in learning more about mobile photography and the use of Lightroom in this workflow, I will be discussing this prior to the start and during the walk for anyone who wants to learn more about the wealth of possibilities the Adobe mobile workflow offers. Please install the Lightroom Photo & Video Editor on your phones prior to the walk. Keep in mind that you are not required to use a phone, as you can take photos with any camera you choose, and there will be an opportunity to show off one of the best photos that you take during the walk in a Photo Contest to win prizes from some of the sponsors. Conversations can continue after the walk for anyone interested, as we end at Simone’s.
Lou Gusmano Any tips on where to park for the walk?
