Where We Will Meet

We'll meet at the statue in Plaza Colon before the walk.

Where The Walk Will End

We'll make a loop and return to Plaza Colon.

About This Walk

Join me as we make our way through the colorful streets of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico!

Starting in the late afternoon, we’ll make our way around the streets just before sunset, giving us beautiful golden hour light. We’ll start at the Plaza Colon and will visit Paseo de la Princesa, La Puerta de San Juan, El Morro, and more throughout our walk. This area is incredibly photogenic, so I know you’ll end the walk with beautiful photos to edit and share.

This event is sponsored by Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. After our walk, we’ll grab a drink or snack and start editing photos together. I encourage you to install Lightroom Mobile onto your phone or tablet and login with your Adobe ID before the event. If you’re new to Lightroom, don’t worry! Adobe offers a free 7-day trial, so you can join in the fun. Make sure to download Lightroom Mobile and have it setup before the walk begins.

What to Bring
You don’t need to be a professional to attend this walk. Everyone and all skill levels are welcome! Bring whatever camera you’d like, such as a DSLR, a mirrorless camera, or your phone.

What to Wear
We will be walking throughout Old San Juan, which has many cobblestone streets and some stairs. I encourage you to wear or bring along comfortable shoes for the walk. We’ll be taking photos of each other as well as the city, so wear something fun yet comfortable and cool.

Where to Park
Street parking is rarely available in Old San Juan, but there are a few parking lots that should make it easy to park before the photo walk.

See you at 3:30!October 7th, 2023

Great news! It looks like we have good weather today, so I will see all of you at 3:30 this afternoon.

We are meeting in Plaza Colon. I will be there around 3:15 in a black athletic skirt and top. And, I’ll have a Puerto Rican flag with me!

Since this walk is sponsored by Adobe Lightroom, I have added my photos of Old San Juan to Lightroom Discover. You can download my “presets” from these photos and use them to edit during or after the walk.

Update on the Photowalk in Old San JuanOctober 6th, 2023

Hello everyone! We are just a day away from the walk in Old San Juan.

I want to share a few updates and reminders before we meet tomorrow.

MEETING DETAILS
Remember we will meet in Plaza Colon at 3:30pm.

We will start walking by 3:45 at the latest, so plan to arrive before 3:30 so we have time to meet each other before we begin.

You can park at various parking lots in Old San Juan, such as La Puntilla, Dona Fela, y Covadonga. La Puntilla is the most affordable option, however it is the farthest from our starting location. Links for the Google Map location for each parking lot are available on the main info page for our walk!

WEATHER
We’ve had a rainy week on the island. I’m hopeful that we will have good weather during our walk. However, if it’s a rainy afternoon, we will postpone the walk. I will let you know by tomorrow (Saturday) at 2:30pm if the walk is postponed.

If we must postpone the walk, we will meet on Sunday, October 8 instead from 3:30-5:30. But hopefully, we’ll have a nice sunny day tomorrow!

WHAT TO WEAR
We will be walking through Old San Juan, which has a lot of cobblestone streets. Make sure to wear or bring along comfortable shoes. And don’t forget your sunscreen!

WHAT TO BRING
If you have a camera with lenses, try to limit yourself to 1-3 lenses. If your bag is heavy, you’re going to get tired sooner and feel hotter during our walk.

If you’re shooting with your phone, I encourage you to download the Lightroom mobile app. The app includes a camera feature and it will allow you to control additional settings. Plus, you can immediately edit your photos there too.

If you have any questions or concerns before the walk, please send me an email (hello@reganshorter.com) or send me a message on Instagram (@by.regan). Otherwise, I’ll see you tomorrow!!
