About This Walk

This photo walk will take you through the stunning Andreas Canyon, an easy 1.2-mile hike rich with natural beauty and history. You’ll explore the world’s second-largest California Fan Palm oasis and discover ancient rock mortars at the canyon’s entrance, offering a glimpse into the lives of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Along the way, you’ll learn practical tips for capturing the canyon’s beauty while making the most of your camera’s capabilities. Whether you’re an experienced photographer or just starting, this walk offers the perfect blend of scenic inspiration and technical insight.

As your guide, I’ll tap into my experience as a former professional photojournalist, advertising photographer with over 30 years of experience, and manager in the Adobe Lightroom mobile team. Our group is behind cutting-edge features like LensBlur, Noise Reduction, Masking, and many more. I love to share my deep expertise in photography and advanced AI technologies. I’ll help you get the most out of your gear, whether you’re shooting with a high-end camera or smartphone.

This photo walk is sponsored by Adobe Lightroom. You can install Lightroom mobile on your phone or tablet and log in with your Adobe ID. If you are new to Lightroom, you are welcome to participate with a FREE 7-DAY TRIAL. Download before the walk to have the app available for use that day and after.

Pro Tips for Walkers:

  • Bring a wide-angle lens for capturing the expansive canyon views.
  • A polarizing filter will help reduce glare from the desert sunlight.
  • Don’t forget to pack water and wear comfortable shoes – it may be a short hike, but the desert can still be tough!
