About This Walk
The Leiden Singelwalk is a ~6.5 km walk along the Leidse Singel, the canal/moat surrounding the Leiden old town. We will pass by many of Leidens’ cultural and historical attractions with plenty of interesting views, surprising details and opportunities to take plenty of pictures. The walk takes 2-3 hours, but can be shortened at any point during the walk by cutting through the city back to the meeting point.
Please wear sturdy shoes, stretches of the walk might lead over cobblestones. Some steep bridges have to be navigated as well, but other than that the walk has no significant height differences. The weather in Leiden in October can be volatile, so rain gear might be needed – watch the local weather forecast.
We will start and end the walk at the Stadscafe van der Werff (opposite the Volkenkundemuseum). After the walk, those interested can join us for socializing and lunch in the Stadscafe.
All levels of experience and equipment are welcome.
Originally from Germany, the leader of the photo walk lives since more than twenty years in a village close to Leiden and is a experienced amateur photographer mostly interested in landscape and minimalistic photography.
