A Message From The Walk Leader
Although Scott Kelby is leading a walk in Ybor City (Tampa) in the morning, it’s full, so I will be heading back to Ybor City again this year. We’ll do an afternoon walk from 3:30 - 5:30 pm taking advantage of all the wonderful colors, textures, people and places. Even if you’ve shot here before, part of the fun (and the challenge) is to look for new things - or to look at old things in a new way. For those that want to end with a meal, we’ll go to Carmine’s Restaurant (famous for their reasonably priced Cubans). As the date gets closer I’ll ask for a head count for the restaurant.
If you’re into Twitter, follow me @davecross for ongoing updates as the day gets closer.
For those of you wondering about what to do with your photos after the Photo Walk, here’s the latest via an instructional video from RC:

As we all know, choosing a favorite “anything” comes down to a personal choice. When I looked through the photos taken during our Ybor City walk I had one thought in mind: which photo would I hang on my wall. Not which photo best represented Ybor, not which photo was well-done from a technical standpoint. I chose the photo based on what caught my eye.
Every photo contest - and each of the photowalks - is probably judged differently. I chose to look through the photos and kept narrowing it down until I ended up with the one I liked best. Personally, I like photos that capture colors and textures.
RE: Winning Image For This Photo Walk.
Wow … I’m glad we went to Ybor to get that shot.
I think I have something like that in my back yard.
This is not sour grapes … I think there are better shots than mine that capture the essence of Ybor.
Sorry, I just don’t get it.
I am interested in knowing why you picked this photo. I was one of the contestants but didn’t expect to be picked because I am a novice and I could see the other photo’s were much better than mine. Actually my favorite was the one called linen. I’m asking for your opinion on what you look for in a photo for my own self improvement. I’m not sure if you are allowed to tell me the answer but if you could I’d sure like to know.
Thank You, Sharon Lane
