Photo Walk Description
I’m Dale Strickland-Clark, a professional commercial photographer based in Wokingham. (My web site: http://immortaleyes.co.uk )
The walk will take in some of Windsor’s and Eton’s historic buildings, including the castle, The Crooked House and the Thames riverside; so plenty of variety.
Parking is scarce in this area – and even more so on a Saturday – so we’re starting and ending *outside* Cafe Rouge right next to Windsor & Eton Central rail station. Windsor & Eton Riverside rail station is just a short walk away too so public transport is your best bet.
The map above has made a right mess of the route so you should ignore it – but we will gather outside Cafe Rouge and leave at 15:00 and head North first, up to Barry Ave and then East along the riverside for a short way until we reach the bridge. Then over the bridge and a walk into Eton. We then double back and across the bridge again and head back to Windsor High Street, following it up to and along the side of the Castle. Just to the South of the Castle there are a number of ancient roads and buildings around St. Alban’s Street where the Crooked House is. We’ll spend the last leg of the journey in this area and then finish back at Cafe Rouge for around 17:00, where we are expected. You can then mingle and compare pictures over coffee and food, if you wish.
I’ll be bringing one camera and a zoom lens (and my phone). You might find lugging a camera bag around becomes a bit of a burden after a while so bring a minimum of gear.
The event is also going to be tracked live on Google+ so you if you have a smartphone with the Google+ app, you can instantly upload pictures taken with your phone. Register on the G+ page here: http://bit.ly/wwpwgplus
When we meet afterwards at Cafe Rouge, you might want a tablet or similar to show off your pictures.
