Photo Walk Description
It’s time to Photo Walk!! I spent the past year talking with many people and I heard that a lot of you want to do a photo walk in Glen Park. So here’s the deal. We will meet in the handicapped parking area on Glen Ave. near Mill St. We will take a leisurely stroll through the park, and then when we get to Main St. we will turn right and head over to the Williamsville farmers market. For those unfamiliar with Glen Park you will get to shoot foliage, plants, ducks, architecture, and there is a pretty nice waterfalls there too. Here is the best part of this walk, it is not a long walk distance wise, but you will be very satisfied with the variety offered during the time we are walking.

Marty, we did this same walk last year in 2010. Thought we were going downtown. Not doing the Glenn again. Sorry.
Yes, Linda, I am doing this walk again for two reasons. Because I was the second walk added last year there wasn’t much time for people to sign up, so there was a lower than expected turnout. Also, I talked to a lot of people who went on the Marina walk last year and they said they would have loved to do Glen Park. So between lack of time for sign ups last year and the requests of a bunch of people I decided to do this walk again to give more people the opportunity to see and experience the wonder of Glen Park. Linda, I’m sorry you’re not going to walk with us this year, we will miss you. There are walks nearby in Fort Erie, or Rochester you could join, or if you don’t want to travel and still want to walk why don’t you come to Glen Park and challenge yourself to shoot differently than how you usually do.

Sue, I am working on getting a model for this year, and if I’m lucky we will have more than one.
I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to make it this year. Planning on going to Rochester for a show that evening, but should be able to make it in the morning. Do you know if there are t-shirts available this year?

Hey gang, We are walking in three days and I’ve got some good news. We have a model that will come along with us if anyone wants to practice their portraiture, and she might even be wearing a wedding dress!!!
Also, I am going to bring a basic off camera light setup so if anyone ever wanted to try that they will be able to. I know the off camera remotes I have work with both Canon and Nikon, but I have never tried them with Pentax or Sony.

Hey Gang, It looks like the weather may not be the best tomorrow. I have been checking it out all day and the forecast for tomorrow hasn’t really improved. I was going to suggest that we change the walk to Sunday, but the weather forecast for Sunday is pretty much the same as Saturday. So I think the best thing to do is keep the walk on Saturday as scheduled. The reasons for not changing the walk are that people have already made the time in their schedule for it and may not be available on Sunday. Also we all know how accurate the weather forecasts have been this summer, just this past week there were two days that called for rain and we didn’t get any. I can also remember many times this summer where the forecast was totally opposite of what the weather turned out to be that day. I totally understand if you think the weather isn’t to your liking and don’t want to show up. Some of you might just take it as a challenge to be overcome. Either way I will be there ready and willing to walk and help anyone that shows up. I am also putting together a packet of info that I am going to pass out to the walkers tomorrow.
