Photo Walk Description

Welcome to the Adams Morgan DC Photo Walk! I have been into photography for over 15 years, bought my first DSLR four years ago, and am now a full time photographer. I do all kinds of photography but mostly events, portraits and weddings. I have a lot of experience organizing and leading activities and events, as I am a detail guy and “love it when a plan comes together.” I’ve gone on the past three WWPW’s and was in Jeff Revell’s group for the first two. I’ve also led several photo walks on my own with friends and acquaintances. I like to keep learning and so I attend many photography workshops and seminars in the area and nationwide. In addition to photography I enjoy traveling and watching TV and movies, and an occasional stage production. When I get a chance for athletic pursuits, I like to bike or play volleyball. I want to live life to my fullest and capture it and the world around me all along the way.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy this photo walk as the Adams Morgan area is culturally diverse, lively and interesting, which should make for an array of great photos. You may be able to find street parking, but there is Colonial Parking at 2328 Champlain St (off 18th St). Before we start our photo walk, we’ll meet in front of the SunTrust Bank at 3:45pm, which is conveniently located across the street from Starbucks and a McDonalds :) . We’ll take our photo walk through the neighborhood which has a lot of “character” to it. There are many restaurants in the area and art is everywhere, even on building walls. I have several ideas for where we’ll meet after the walk to have dinner and review photos together, and will let you know the location in due time. Check back on this photo walk page for updates.

    BUS: 42, L2, Circulator

Parking: Ample parking at Colonial Parking at 2328 Champlain St (off 18th St) or you may be able to find street parking, especially for a Sunday.

Besides the information that is on the WWPW website, there’s also lots of good information on Scott Kellby’s blog: http://www.scottkelby.com/

Make sure you prepare your camera and the gear you’re going to bring for the photo walk and charge your batteries. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You may want to bring a hat, sunscreen. Afterward, we plan to meet at The Diner.

    Hello everyone,

Today is our photo walk day and we’ll make the best of it. There is only a low chance of rain so I recommend having an umbrella on hand, and I also have an extra camera rain sleeve just in case. I think we’ll still be able to get great images for our photo walk as it’s such a great area for photographing.

So we’ll meet at 3:45pm in the courtyard in front of the SunTrust Bank at 1800 Columbia Road Northwest, DC 20009. I’ll have my Worldwide Photo Walk T-Shirt on.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
