    Rules

    Taken from the official site:

“You can use Adobe Photoshop to your hearts content, as long as everything in your photo was taken during the official walk hours along on the walk route. You can’t go back at sunset and shoot it in better light, and so on. Also, you can’t add a better sky that you shot in that same location on some other day. Basically, whatever you submit, it has to be taken during the official walk you participated in. You can shoot panos, HDR, B&Ws, you can create collages, you can process them with Instagram on your iPhone—I don’t care—it just has to be all shot during your 2-hour walk. If you don’t agree with the rules, no sweat whatsoever—just don’t enter the competition portion of the walk”
    Safety
    1. As part of the walk is along the river please take care you don’t fall in
    2. Be careful crossing the roads as a group
    3. Don’t enter the mall area as this out of bounds to photographers

As I will be doing the judging, I think its fair you know where I will be coming from, as every judge will have their preferences, bias and appreciations.

What images am I likely to be impressed by?
    1 That ‘wow’ image
    2. An image that’s a bit different.
    3. Interesting images that are also well composed and on the whole, meet the normal ‘rules’ of photography. E.G good positioning of subject, leading lines etc
    4. I am also open to impressionist, deliberate blur, shapes/colour created by camera movement etc, though try and give a hint of the walk!
    5. Good handling of light

What images am I likely to ‘put aside’
    1. Boring/Flat
    2. Not well composed
    a Main subject too central
b Items protruding from the edge of the frame
c Bright spots that detract from the main subject
    d Over/under exposed
    e Not focused properly

    f. Over processed or over photo-shopped,is allowed in the rules but you do take a risk!

Where do I upload my image? (Yes you can only upload one image)
I have created a Flicker page for you to do this so everyone can see all the images
If you have trouble doing this, send them to me and i will upload for you
    lyall.reynolds@gmail.com Subject WWPW

I have used the optional URL to make it easy. Its
    http://www.flickr.com/groups/wwpwhenderson2011/

Winner receives Scott Kelbys newest book, Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It, and will also be in the running for the Grand Prize!

How long have I got to upload my image? If you could do so sometime within the next fortnight that would be great

    What happens if its raining?
If it is raining heavily the walk will be put off until the next day (2nd) same time

    See you there
