Photo Walk Description
All interested photographers welcome. Join us for a couple of hours as we roam the streets of Tillsonburg and join in along with the world on this special day.
Our photo walk begins in downtown Tillsonburg and will journey through the town streets covering historical areas as well as redevelopments.
As your photo walk guide I will assist those who want to learn a bit more about photography as well as deliver some historical significance of the areas we discover.
Finally after the walk we can gather at Coffee Culture to discuss and reflect . One photo from our group will be chosen to be entered into the World Wide competition. As well that photographer will win a prize from Scott Kelby.
Here is some background information about me, Danny Bailey your guide for the walk.
As a professional videographer / photographer, I have traveled the world capturing live events and creating documentaries in over 47 countries. Born and raised in Tillsonburg I have lived in Kitchener, Ontario since my first class at Conestoga College where I studied Radio and Television Broadcasting. It was during school that our class shot and edited actor Jim Carrey’s first resume tape. I began my broadcasting career at CKCO-TV where I spent ten years honing my skills before embarking on a freelance career . From 1993 through 1999 I taught Electronic News Gathering at both Conestoga and Mohawk Colleges. My teaching led me to producing over fifty (video shooting) instructional segments that were featured on CTV. I have shot prestigious events from the Olympic games to the Rolling Stones. During this last decade I have been the Director of Photography for two series on Bravo Canada “photoXplorers” and “Behind the Camera”. I have just finished a documentary with the “Trailer Park Boys” actors Robb Wells and JP Tremblay, which was shot on location in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. I am also an exclusive artist with iStockphoto and Getty Images. I have appeared in the locally produced book by Craig Musselman ” Talent Next Door. ” My diverse portfolio of photography has garnered awards from Waterloo Region’s “Vital Signs” and in 2011 the “Viewer’s Choice Runner Up” award for a competition held with LIFE Magazine in New York. Images from my portfolio have appeared in the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, National Post as well as magazines in the United States with TIME Warner. While still freelancing I am currently working on an archival project of time-lapse photography with the Region of Waterloo’s Museum.

Thanks for a really great walk, Danny. I learned a lot and it was so good to catch up and make new friends at the same time. Can’t wait to filter through my photos to pick a winner! With all the time you spend on the road, I think I speak for the whole group when I say “thanks” for giving up your Sunday morning (and a good chunk of the afternoon) to share the beauty of our little town.
A terrific Sunday morning adventure and wonderful experience for my first photo walk!! You were very patient with all our questions, offered helpful tips, and showed us how to explore to find those really “cool” shots! Thank you so much for sharing your time and expertise
!!
Can’t wait to do another walk!!
OK girls looking for some more photos. Please upload one each before midnight tonight.
Sorry. You’ve got until October 10th.
