Photo Walk Description
Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010
We’re going to start at the Tarpon Springs Marina, then move down to Dodecanese Blvd. to around Hellas. Cross the road and head back toward Athens Rd, and turn right. We head down Athens Road to the National Bakery, then double back to Dodecanese Blvd. We follow it down to the roundabout at the end of the street, turn right to the water, then return to Dedecanese Blvd heading back up the other side of the street, ending at the delicious Hellas Greek Restaurant. Lots to shoot in this area, with the docks, the architecture, and tourists. Side streets have lots of character along the way. Should be a really fun day!

Tarpon Springs is a superb location! If you walkers all pitch in, I’m sure you can help your leader get through the event… I hear he is kinda new at the Photowalk thing.

I’ve always wanted to visit Tarpon Springs; now’s my chance! I participated in 2 Tampa walks last year and had a blast. Hopefully, Tarpon is less humid than downtown Tampa.
I loved the Ybor City walk last year … met so many nice people! I have visited Tarpon Springs (briefly) and am looking forward to exploring it with my camera and making even more friends!
Just visited Tarpon again last year after not having been there for a long while. This should be a great time!

I grew up here in Tarpon and surprisingly enough I have very few images from the docks, so it’ll be fun!
I was really looking forward to this year since I missed last year (I’m a veteran of the first year walk) but I will have to be with you in spirit. I had a stroke in December and won’t be recovered enough to walk that much by then. I am fully expecting to be back by next year. Enjoy the day.

Watching the weather intently. Who knows what we’ll be greeted with. Although a tropical storm is definitely a photo op!
Current weather report shows “only” a 30% chance of rain between 10am-Noon.
“If it rains, I’d keep shooting. I don’t think the heavy stuff’s gonna come down for quite a while.” (apologies to Carl Spackler)
Eh…long drive, I did it last year but not with 50% chance of rain now. Shall hand around Orlando…Have fun!
I am hopping, that tomorrow morning the weather forecast will look better. I will be driving from Fort Myers, so I hope the 60% precipitation will change at least to 40% or less. I will keep my fingers crossed. I am so looking forward to this photo walk. I have never been in Tarpon Springs.

It would be easier to have our photos judged iwe could upload them.
Now I do not know if i uploaded the photo or not it is saying: The deadline has passed for walker photo upload. Please check back during the week to see which photo was selected as the Tarpon Springs, FL USA (Sponge Docks) Photo Walk winner. And it is not 11:59pm yet. Lets hope for the best.
I tried for two days to upload mine and I got the same message. I couldn’t upload anything. Very disappointing.
