Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010

Am 24.07. in Stuttgart ist viel los! Nicht nur ein Konzert am Wasen sondern auch die Eröffnung von Christopher Street Day und die Lange Ost Nacht. Da ich seit 8 Jahren in S-Ost wohne, möchte ich euch zum live Heimspiel-Soundtrack diese fotogene Seite von Stuttgart zeigen, ohne auf einen lang ausklingenden Abend verzichten zu müssen, da man weiter durch den Osten laufen kann und sich über die vielen Veranstaltungen der Langen Ost Nacht ein Bild machen ;)
Auf meinem Blog werde ich einige Tipps für einen Photo Walk (allerdings auf Englisch) schreiben, die ich von Scott Kelby, Jay Maisel und aus eigener Erfahrung gelernt habe. Ich freue mich auf den Abend mit vielen Fotoliebhabern!

    Liebe Walkers,
    ich wollte mich nur kurz melden, um zu sagen, wie viel Spaß es gestern mit euch gemacht hat! Danke fürs Mitmachen!
    Nächsten Samstag ist der Christopher Street Day Parade ab 16 Uhr in der Stadtmitte (Schreiberstraße bis zum Schloßplatz). Bestimmt eine sehr bunte Kulisse zum Fotografieren. http://www.csd-stuttgart.de/cms/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50&Itemid=8
    Wer Zeit und immer noch etwas Platz auf der Speicherkarte hat, kann sich gegen 16 Uhr in die Stadtmitte begeben. Wenn jemand einen guten Vorschlag hat, wo wir uns am besten aufstellen können, bitte kurze Nachricht an mich schicken. Vielleicht finde ich bis dahin auch einen guten Platz.

  • It's going to be hot!

    - I just wanted to remind you to bring plenty of water with you. It may cool down this weekend, but it may not!
    - We still have room for more walkers to join us, so if you have friends who would like to come along, please have them register, too. I would like to know how many will be walking with us.
    - I’ll be at the Mercedes Museum at 5:45. I’ll explain our plans starting at 6:00 and then we’ll begin. If you are running late, you will be able to find us on Mercedes Straße.
    - I’m really looking forward to spending the evening with you. And remember: After our rest in the beer garden, some of us will be going on to the Lange Ost Nacht to take pictures there, too!

    We are going to meet at 5:45 p.m. on the steps outside the Mercedes Museum. We will have an opportunity to photograph its architectural beauty before heading down past the Mercedes Benz Arena (soccer stadium) to the Carl Benz Arena, where the grand opening of Christopher Street Day will be in full swing. I visualize us descending on that spectacle like a group of paparazzi and then moving on past the Porsche Arena to the Mercedes test track near the Neckar River. Music from the concert at the Wasen will be accompanying us as we walk across the river toward Gaisburg, a part of town on a hill in the east end of Stuttgart. With a wide angle lens, you may be able to capture the huge gas tank as we walk past it. Next, we’ll walk up a picturesque street toward the Gaisburg Church, where a surprise awaits WPWalkers.
    We will end our two-hour walk at the new Schweinemuseum, which just opened May 1. Before we settle down comfortably in the large beer garden there, we will be able to go into the museum and photograph everything there. In the autumn, an exhibit of our photographs from the museum will be displayed in the restaurant. For those shutterbugs who still have room on their memory cards and life in their battery packs, the Lange Ost Nacht will be beckoning from around the corner with live bands, magic shows, a circus and more.

    Hi Jim, ich wünsch dir viel Spas im Schweinemuseum. Hab im Radio davon gehört udn muss sagen: Deine Zusammenstellung gefällt mir gut! Aus bekanntem Grund werd ich mir das SChweinemuseum ein andermal ansehen.
