Photo Walk Description

Join us for a Photo Walk in the historic town of Stockton, New Jersey. We’ll begin with a sunrise shoot at Centre Bridge. With any luck, we’ll catch some early morning mist as the sun rises above the river. Then we’ll take a stroll along the Delaware & Raritan Canal Trail and explore the native landscape along its footpath. From there, we’ll visit Prallsville Mill – one of the most idyllic settings this side of Jersey. With its scenic views of the curving Delaware River and its naturally carved out woodlands, the photographic opportunities here are tremendous. There are structures at this location that date back as far as 1790. They include a linseed oil mill, a gristmill, a sawmill and a grain silo. Here, a rustic railroad trestle overlooks the Wickecheoke Creek. The Creek then spills over an old stone wall to merge with both the canal and river. The mill complex serves as the backdrop for this bucolic perspective. Finally, we’ll head into the village, past Old Colligan’s Stockton Inn to complete our Photo Walk at the Stockton Market. A unique indoor venue brimming with locally sourced fresh food and artisan offerings. Here for our photographing pleasure we’ll find farm fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, savory fresh breads and pastries, a fishmonger, a Parisian-inspired chocolatier and so much more!

Photographers of all levels are welcome. For those more experienced, bring the arsenal. On a Walk like this, you don’t want to be caught without the right equipment. Sunrise is at 7:10 a.m.
