Photo Walk Description

Twilight is really popular right now, and there’s not a better time to enjoy the sights of the American city. As the sun sets in St. Louis, the city lights come on, and for a brief period of time there’s a magical symphony of light, replete with rich, vibrant color. It’s a great time to be out!
I’m Edward Crim, long time St. Louis photographer and print maker. I teach photo classes, lead expeditions, and help anyone who’s interested in photography improve their skills (I’ve got a Meetup group for night photography if you want to get out more often than once a year).
Dress for the weather, bring a tripod if you have one and be prepared to have fun!

Looking forward to the walk this year. I’ve attended the one that has been held in St. Charles the last couple of years. I’ve been wanting to get downtown and shoot for a while now. I’m a third year fine art photography student. I am getting my degree online through the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.

Edward, if you don’t mind me asking, what is the STLPA?

  2. Brenda Jones says:

    Edward,

I know this is still a couple of months away but my wife (Brenda) and I are really looking forward to this year’s walk. We’ve done one in St. Charles and last year one at the Zoo (Brenda was local winner) but this will be our first downtown. And I love the time of day you’ve chosen. Should be fun.

    • Brenda Jones says:

Sorry if that sounded strange. I forgot to change users was typing under my wife’s signon.

I will be in St. Louis for a professional conference and was glad to find a photowalk going on while I’m there. Last year was my first year to participate in the WWFW and I greatly enjoyed it. I’m truly a beginner and have only had my DSLR about a year. Looking forward to participating.

  4. Carrie Pyle says:

It is nice that Kelby changed the date to October – the zoo was sure steamy last year! See you in October.

  5. Douglas Weber says:

Look forward to it! Great time of year

  6. Wilma Slaughter says:

I’ve never done any night photography-this sounds great!

  7. Rosina Margiotta says:

I’ve made 3 out of 4; looking forward to another fun evening.

  8. Joe Vitale says:

    Ed,
Thanks for taking on another event.

    See you guys there!

Would you mind checking I signed up on August 3 (see comment above) and received a confirmation that I was attending this walk however, I am on the wait list. When I signed up I believe there were still 18 places left. If I did something wrong, please let me know. thanks

    • Edward Crim says:

      Rosina,
You didn’t do anything wrong, the walk just filled very quickly. I’m trying to persuade a friend to lead a second group (the one I’m leading seems to be the only one in St. Louis), so keep an eye peeled.

  11. Charlie Eaton says:

That’s what you get for being the early bird Ed. Looks like you have a full roster this year. Hopefully no rain :D Although it was an interesting conclusion to last year’s. Too bad your walk is all filled up. I guess I’ll have to go somewhere else :(

  12. Jenn says:

So, if a second walk group is created, I assume all those on the wait list would be the first to gain entry to that group, right?

This walk sounds AWESOME and challenging…since this is my first year, I’m doing the walk in Hermann, MO.

All the photogs are sure to have a great time…I’m not sure the route, but there is a lot to take advantage of. I hope the City Garden will be included in the route. Would love to see the pics that come from it!

    Have fun y’all!

  13. Jay Boyle says:

So is there any word on a second walk?? Anyone doing it?? Anything?? If no-one is keen to lead, I’ll throw my hat in the ring, just to give all those on the waiting list a chance to be a part of this!

  14. Jill Sodt says:

I won’t be able to attend after all. My conference schedule is quite full for that weekend. I’ve left the walk so someone else can take my slot. Have fun!

  15. Jim Williams says:

Will there be a place to view the submitted pictures?

  16. Bryan Denning says:

There is a Flickr group, http://www.flickr.com/groups/wwpw4/, hopefully we will be able to see just our groups gallery once the competition closes

  17. Carrie Pyle says:

:( I am sad we can’t see what was submitted after the deadline has passed.
