Photo Walk Description
3rd annual South Park Photowalk. This year, the World Wide Photowalk has been moved from the heat of late July to the hopefully far more temperate and photogenic early fall. Join us Sunday October 2nd for a nice morning walk and photography in the park, then go for lunch at the South Park Clubhouse.
Is this walk going to be going through the town or through the park?
Elliott, the walk is in South Park. We meet at the parking lot by the old fairgrounds. Past walks at this location have gone by the horse stables and then to the wildlife preserve. Depending on the conditions and the consensus of the walkers, we might walk to the gazebo and then back to the preserve.
We’ll try to do this walk rain or shine. As things stand now it looks to be that the former is more likely. We generally stay to paved paths so mud should not be a major issue. Come prepared with raingear. You might want to bring some plastic bags to put your camera and stuff in while walking.
Mike, thanks for running the walk yesterday. My wife and I had a fun time, even with the rain. I’ll submit my photos this week. Take care. Joe

This group is open to all to view, but only members can upload. Since I don’t see any of your emails from your PW registration, you will need to go to the Flickr group and ask to be invited. Once I approve it you can upload your pics. There is also an area for discussions. The group will continue to be available after the WWPW cutoff dates.
Just want to clarify what needs to happen before the October 7th noon deadline: each walker/photographer must pick their one best/favorite photo and upload it to this site for consideration. You need to do this to be considered for prizes. (The Flickr uploads are for our own amusement and have no deadline or anything).
After that the leader (me) picks the best pic for our South Park area walk. Note that the leader is NOT eligible for prizes. (I get a Kelby book for volunteering to lead).
After that the main photowalk site should be used to look at the choices for all the other walks. The Kelby group picks the grand prize winner and honorable mentions. I’m assuming at that point the people’s choice voting will commence (I don’t recall them doing that part before). I assume instructions for how to do that will be posted on the main WPW site.
